Listen again to Solley’s on BBC Radio Kent
On Friday morning BBC Radio Kent joined Keith here on the farm to find out more about how the business has been affected by COVID-19 and how we have been adapting to keep Kent well stocked with their favourite ice cream.
Keith discussed how our campsite and Parlour are currently closed to visitors, at a time when the season would usually be well underway with tractor rides heading out on the farm, Solley’s Sundaes flying out the door and families exploring our farm trails. We would also usually be supplying to many of Kent’s major attractions, such as Leeds Castle & Hever Castle, who are also unable to welcome visitors at the moment.
Of course, we couldn’t just let the ice cream sit here in the freezers, and so we launched our ice cream home delivery, with contactless payment and our “drop & knock” system with the hope of bringing happiness to households throughout our local area.
The uptake has been amazing and we are so grateful to our customers new & existing for the support we have had. We will continue to offer local delivery, with updates on delivery areas posted on our Facebook page as well as here on our website.
If you missed Keith on Friday, you can listen again here from 6:49am.
